and Wat Haripoonchai

Visit to the famous Wat Haripoonchai
in Lampoon built in 1157. It is one of the most sacred
monuments in the north, with intricately lacquered doors,
one of the largest bronze gongs in the world and two
fine Buddha images in bronze. Also visit to the village
of Pasang, noted for its high quality silk and cotton
weaving.

Im Innern des Tempels kann die sehr kleine, kostbare
Buddhastatue, umgeben von anderen, viel gr?sseren Buddhafiguren
betrachtet werden.
In verschiedenen Bauphasen im 13., 15. und 16. Jh. wurde
der Chedi auf 51 m H?he gebracht. Er besteht aus einem
Laterit-Kern, den ein Ziegelbau umgibt. Die ?usserste
Schicht besteht aus vergoldeten Kupferplatten.
