Pick up by Land Rover at your hotel
in Krabi and travel on back roads and trails passing
small villages, oil palm and rubber plantations. Take
the 4WD drive trail into the jungle where a variety
of exotic tropical vegetation can be seen growing. Time
for a short trek to experience nature close up, refreshments
will be served in the jungle after trek. See how natural
rubber is obtain from rubber trees at a rubber plantation
then visit a charcoal factory to see how wood from the
rubber trees is made into charcoal. Lunch is local Thai
food cooked not too spicy. Explore caves with many caverns
at different levels and varieties of rock formations
such as stalagmites and stalactites. From the top there
are scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Visit
a village handicraft center where the locals make products
from coconut shells, fish scales and rubber tree leaves.
The natural scenery in Krabi is superb, and the local
culture especially of the Muslim people has retained
much of its tradition. This tour visits many places
not in the guide books or on the tourist trails, a chance
to discover the real life and nature in Krabi province.
